Objectives - Impact
Main aim of this research pillar is to examine the pure Political Economy of the EMU and how states and markets interact in the context of EMU. The research will focus on the effect that EMU has on real Economic Convergence between states and how markets react to economic divergence between states. Moreover, it will be contemplated the level of integration between states’ markets and to what extent this development drives the force of further integration. In this context, the need for Fiscal Integration will be examined, thus stimulating the EU's political integration

b) EMU’s need for Fiscal Integration and Implications

c) EMU’s impact on Common Market and Common Policies (e.g. labor market)

        d) EMU’s impact on EU’s finalite

Benefits for Participants & Linkage to LLP Goals:

1)  Dissemination of specialized knowledge to Civil Society and furnishing its members with understanding of the significance of the European Integration project, thus enhancing the sense of European identity,

2) Enhancing education at all levels (academic, intermediaries, civil society) thus serving the objectives of Europe 2020 regarding incentives for increasing third level education,

3) Promoting academic research of high calibre and the involvement of young researchers and distinguished academics, thus facilitating the goal of a European Research Area.

Impact on the Field of Research: to determine the political and economic spill-over effect of the EMU on the EU and how it can prove to be the driving force of the EU’s final destination.
